These images, the result of a photographic search of the lost past, were taken from a train during a journey between Auschwitz and Belzec. The artist is specifically interested in the passing of time and how time tends to dim memory. Rather than photograph either of these tragic sites, Gersht chose to reflect this theme through the blurred imagery of the surrounding countryside.
