Henrik Olesen
Danish, born 1967

These works concern Herman Bang, an influential Danish author of the late 19th century and early 20th century. Bang is often compared to Oscar Wilde, as he was vilified for his overt homosexuality, with his works criticized as “obscene.” This set of eight works represent the demonization of Bang by Danish society at the time.
